Getting Started

How do I create an account?+

Click "Sign Up" in the top right corner, enter your email and create a password. Verify your email to complete registration.

Is ShopMall free to use?+

Yes! Shoppers browse and discover for free. Merchants pay a platform commission (4–8%) on sales. Sharers earn 10% commissions with no subscription fee.

How do I reset my password?+

Click "Forgot Password" on the sign-in page. Enter your email and we'll send you a reset link.

For Shoppers

How do I make a purchase?+

Click on any product to view details, then click "Buy Now" — you'll be taken to the merchant's own website to complete the purchase securely. ShopMall does not process payments.

Are the merchants on ShopMall verified?+

Yes. Every merchant completes identity and domain verification before their store goes live. Products must comply with ShopMall's terms — prohibited items are blocked by policy and removed on report.

Can I save products for later?+

Yes! Click the heart icon on any product to save it to your collection. Access saved items from your profile.

What if I have an issue with my order?+

Contact the merchant directly for order-specific issues (returns, shipping, refunds). Their contact information is on their store page. ShopMall does not process orders.

For Merchants

How do I become a merchant?+

Click "Become a Merchant", fill out the application with your business details, and complete domain verification (DNS TXT record, meta tag, or file upload). Your store goes live after identity review — typically 1–2 business days.

What are the fees?+

Starter (Free): 8% commission. Growth ($49/mo): 6% commission. Pro ($149/mo): 4% commission. No listing fees. See Pricing for full details.

How do I add products?+

Go to your merchant dashboard, click "Add Product", enter product details, images, and pricing. CSV import and Shopify integration are also available.

How does the sharer program work for merchants?+

You can enable the sharer network for your store. Sharers earn a flat 10% commission (you can adjust per product). When a sharer drives a sale, their commission is paid from the sale amount before your payout.

Why was my product rejected or not approved?+

Products are reviewed against ShopMall's terms before going live. Common reasons for rejection:

  • Product falls into a prohibited category (firearms, adult content, drugs, counterfeit goods — see Terms §5)
  • Missing or broken product URL — must link to a working page on your verified domain
  • Images don't meet guidelines (watermarked, blurry, or not of the actual product)
  • Price is listed as $0 or missing
  • Product title or description contains prohibited content

Check your merchant dashboard for the rejection reason. If you believe it's an error, resubmit after making corrections or contact support.

How long does product approval take?+

Most products are reviewed within 24–48 hours. During high-volume periods it may take up to 72 hours. You'll receive an email when your product is approved or if it needs changes. You can check status any time in your merchant dashboard under Products.

Can AI agents find and recommend my products?+

Yes. Your catalog is automatically discoverable via ShopMall's MCP server — Claude Desktop, Claude.ai, Cursor, and other AI tools can search and recommend your products. Pro merchants can also sync their catalog programmatically via the API. See AI Agents for details.

For Sharers

How do I become a sharer?+

Enable Sharer mode in your account settings, complete Stripe Connect onboarding for payouts, and start sharing products to earn commissions.

How much can I earn?+

Sharers earn a flat 10% commission on every sale made through their affiliate link. Merchants may adjust this rate per product, but 10% is the standard rate across the platform.

When do I get paid?+

Commissions are held for 30 days (refund window), then confirmed and paid monthly via Stripe Connect to your bank account. There is no minimum payout threshold.

Do I earn commission from AI agent recommendations?+

Yes. The 30-day attribution window covers all clicks through your affiliate link, including purchases made after an AI agent recommends a product the user discovered via your link. Agent-attributed sales count the same as direct clicks.

What are the FTC disclosure requirements?+

You must clearly disclose your affiliate relationship whenever you share a link (e.g., "I earn a commission if you buy through this link"). This applies to social posts, blog content, videos, and anywhere else you share links. Failure to disclose may result in account suspension.

AI & Agent Integration

Can I use Claude or another AI to shop on ShopMall?+

Yes. ShopMall has an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that lets Claude Desktop, Claude.ai, Cursor, and any MCP-compatible AI search the catalog and get product details. See Add to Claude for a 5-step setup guide.

Do I need an account to use the AI shopping features?+

No. The MCP server is read-only and requires no ShopMall account. You'll need a Claude or other MCP-compatible AI tool, but no ShopMall login.

What can the AI agent do?+

The agent can search products by keyword or theme, get full product details and pricing, browse by category, and view store information. It cannot place orders — purchases are completed directly on each merchant's website.

I'm a developer — how do I access the API?+

The MCP server is publicly available at https://shopmall.com/api/mcp. A REST API is also available — Pro merchants can generate API keys in their dashboard. See For AI Agents for full documentation.

Account & Security

How do I enable two-factor authentication?+

Go to Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication. Toggle the switch and confirm with your password. You'll receive a 6-digit code via email on each login.

Is my data secure?+

Yes. We use AES-256-GCM encryption for sensitive data, never store payment information, and comply with GDPR and CCPA. Read our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my account?+

Contact support to request account deletion. We'll process your request within 30 days and permanently delete all your data per our Privacy Policy.
