Set it up

Open Claude Desktop
If you don't have Claude Desktop, download it free from claude.ai. It's available on Mac and Windows.
Open Settings → Developer
Click your name in the bottom-left → Settings → Developer tab. You'll see a button to "Edit Config" — click it.
This opens a JSON file in your text editor.
Paste the ShopMall config
If the file is empty, paste the whole block below. If it already has content, add the "shopmall" entry inside the existing mcpServers section.

Save and restart Claude Desktop
Save the file, then quit and reopen Claude Desktop. ShopMall will appear in Claude's tool list.
You should see a 🔌 icon or a tools indicator in the Claude interface confirming it's connected.

Start a new conversation and ask anything. Claude will search ShopMall and return real products with prices and direct buy links.

Do I need a ShopMall account?
No. Claude can search and browse the catalog without you having one. Create a free account if you want to save products or get price drop notifications.
Does this cost anything?
ShopMall's catalog is free to access. Claude Desktop has a free tier. Neither requires payment to use the basic shopping features.
What if I already have other MCP servers configured?
Just add the "shopmall" entry inside your existing mcpServers block. Each server gets its own key — they don't conflict.
Does this work with other AI tools besides Claude Desktop?
ShopMall uses the MCP standard, which is supported by Claude Desktop, Cursor, and other MCP-compatible tools. Check your tool's documentation for how to add an MCP server.
Can Claude place orders for me?
Not directly — Claude will give you a buy link and you complete the purchase on the merchant's website. ShopMall shows you what to buy; you decide when and from whom.
